Vanishing Six Gates World
Episode 49 / Episode 51

Synopsis

Monsters

The End Of Mon World As We Know It
  • Upon breaking of the earth, the Fire Dragon says "Oh no", and Spectra Angel says that the seal was broken; in the original the dragon says nothing and Ciel mutters "That's …." . Saban never clarifies what seal exactly was broken.
  • Beginner compliments herself on her spell and Luke says it's pretty straining to teleport, instead of Beginner just mentioning the "dispi spell" and Luke says it saved them.
  • Beginner responds to Luke by remembering she should be tired; instead of her hora hora.
  • Luke tells her it's not the time to faint, instead of just calling her name in a panicked voice.
  • Luke asks what that light stream is, the original is silent.
  • Gabriolis says they need to hurry, or the gargoyles will catch them (somehow they're supposed to be chasing them, even though they fly past). No such thing is said in the original.
  • The professors fears that the worlds have started to unite, even though earlier it was only assumed Redda would invade it, and he has no reason to assume Redda wants to unite the worlds. In the original, the professor worries that the bridge has been formed.
  • Gabriolis responds that it's something even worse, as if he knows what is happening. Zaha just says he's wrong.
  • Both red winged angels cite the six attributes, but Redda refers to the final realms as Good and Evil, instead of Holy and Demon.
  • Redda says (apparently to Prince Eccentro) he will decide when Mon World will be united with the human world and says they have lost. The original says he does not intend to limit himself to the human world.
  • Redda says everyone will now be subject to the Time Lord. The original says he is going to open the door to the time realm.
  • Using a recycled shot, the conversation between Redda and Eccentro is extended to have Eccentro say that this wasn't agreed, Redda reply with mock apology and that he can file a complaint, and Eccentro replying that he will do that and how he should be ruling.
  • The Fire Angel asks whether this is true and Spectra says Redda's name, instead of the Flame Angel muttering "Time's …" and Ciel saying "It can't be".
  • Redda orders Oroboros to show himself and calls him great ruler of time, while the original specifically calls for Oroboros to appear for him.
  • Redda says "Welcome, Oroboros" while the original only laughs.
  • Rockna asks Mondo what they can do, instead of simply saying she's frightened.
  • Mondo asks Gabriolis whether he knows the monster Oroboros, instead of stunned saying "The master of time …. "
  • Gabriolis says he never heard of him, instead of Zaha saying it's Oroboros.
  • The Cloud Angel says he knows him well and that he rules past, present and future, instead of saying that as the time master, it has dominion over all.
  • Rockna asks why Redda would call for him, while Rokuna says the name of the Storm Angel in recognition.
  • The Cloud Angel says that by summoning Oroboros, Redda creates himself a new realm. The original says that through the six items, he can invoke the time element.
  • The Forest Angel concludes that must be why he wanted to have the Monster Things and that Oroboros was imprisoned in time for so long that hardly anyone knows he exists. The original explains about what Oroboros can do to the world when the seal is broken.
  • Mondo says that Oroboros is free, the original just wonders about the time element.
  • A mostly correct translation : both Rockna and Rokuna wonder why.
  • Rockna asks why the angels say nothing, is it that bad? Nobody speaks in the original during this bit.
  • Gluko says Oroboros does not show up in the Mon World book, either as king or queen of the time realm and is not under H or whatever and perhaps he just moved in; recycled footage is added to extend the scene for this purpose. Guuko only says it isn't mentioned.
  • Eccentro calls to Redda that it never was part of the agreement that someone else would be ruler of the earth. The original just asks what exactly the idea is.
  • Redda replies that he's been working on the plan to revive Oroboros for centuries (despite the dub having translated (mostly) the earlier scene where Spectra/Ciel realizes he's after something other than an invasion exactly because he only started looking for the items now) and says Eccentro's pathetic wishes were a side matter. In the original, he mocks Count Collection for expecting a Demon to protect humans and mentions something to the effect of him being the only one?
  • Batch replies that they'll see who's pathetic after Eccentro dealt with Redda. Batchii instead says something about the deal and the connecting.
  • Eccentro says something like, just you wait. Count Collection says how it's unfair.
  • Redda says that in his uncorporeal form Oroboros is useless, so he needs a body. Reda meanwhile says something about Oroboros' soul/spirit being unable to be in this world, but does not explicitly explain.
  • Positive point, the bit where the red winged angel calls out to his dragon is mostly similar, except that Redda talks about coming back to life specifically and doesn't call it darkness dragon.
  • Mondo wonders what Redda plans to do, the original just asks what?
  • Redda is heard laughing while shooting down the red energy, he is silent in the original.
  • The professor says it doesn't look good for them, the original just says "That's …" upon recognizing the dragon.
  • The Flame Angel says that Redda revived the dragon back to life. In the original, she orders the Fire Dragon to attack.
  • The Fire Dragon does not say a spell when shooting his flames.
  • The Fire Dragon says the shield holds back his strongest flames, instead of recognizing the battle spell as Resist.
  • Redda says nothing they can do will work because he is invincible. The original says it's useless and they won't interfere with this.
  • A recycled shot is added during which the Fire Dragon replies that nobody is invincible and how they will find his weak spot.
  • A recycled shot is added during which Gabriolis continues the dragon's quote with how they'll see whether he will still be laughing then and how Evil will never win.
  • A recycled shot is added where Mondo agrees but wonders how they will do it, and Rockna wonders whether the monster even ha a weak spot.
  • The sound effects during the birth sequence are less fleshteary and the dragon does not roar upon emerging.
  • Redda says that in his new body, he will be called Doomsday Dragon (Apocalypse Dragon in German dub). Original says a mocking, "What's the time, new Tyrant Terror Dragon?"
  • Redda tells the Doomsday Dragon to use his new body and let his terrible powers work in Mon World. The original is mostly the same in that he orders him to use his powers, but still refers to Oroboros by name.
  • Eccentro says something about this being worse than losing. He says nothing in the original.
  • Mondo says that look, there's Luke and Rockna says yes, and he's carrying Beginner. In the original, Mondo says both their names while Rokuna says Namiko-sensei.
  • Luke yells to Mondo and Rockna that while he doesn't know what is happening, it's nothing good. Original Luke says it's a disaster, calling specifically to Mondo, and tells him to look in the direction he's pointing.
  • Upon seeing the reversing/speeding up, Rockna wonder what the meaning is and states that various life has disappeared. Original just says Are wa.
  • The Angel of All Oceans says that Oroboros manipulates time and turns the wheel of time forward to send everything to the future. (currently counterpart not fully translated, but the dub's wrong, obviously).
  • The Cloud Angel says that if he turns the wheel backward, life around him dies. The Storm Angel instead uses a metaphor of the hands of a clock and talks about both past and future existence.
  • The Flame Angel says that's exactly what Redda wants, a world of nothingness. The original says that if the conversion continues, the world will cease to be but does not comment on the world Redda wants to create.
  • Gabriolis wonders why he does this since the Evil Realm is also part of Mon World and whether he wants to destroy it, then wonders what he wants and then asks Redda what he wants to achieve with this sacrifice. In the original, Zaha talks directly to Reda as he says the Demon Realm is also part of the Rokumon World and asks why he wants to destroy his own realm.
  • Redda says it's not a sacrifice and that even Gabriolis would have to understand that once everything is destroyed Redda will be the supreme ruler.
  • A recycled shot is added where Gabriolis tells Redda to think, cause there's nothing to rule about when all is destroyed.
  • Redda replies that ruling the Mon World will be child's play and that one thing is certain, Gabriolis won't get on his nerves anymore. In the original, he intends to create a different world, but not an empty one. The exact lines have him talk either about this being his reply to something? Dub's wrong either way.
  • Redda calls for the Doomsday Dragon to do as he said and destroy Mon World (again). The original is manicly shouting disappear, disappear.
  • During the attack sequence, Redda shouts how nothing should be left. No such voice over exists in the original.
  • When one of the rays hits a demon, the dub cuts a second or so that see the demon petrified and in pain.
  • Mondo says nothing, Rockna finished it with the whole world. Original has them say vanishing … the world ….
  • During the world over view, lines are added for the White Dolphin, Expert and the children.
  • The mention of how the Mon Colle Knights and their actions were what persuaded the Yondai Tenshi to finally move were cut.
  • Amazingly enough, the dub is silent during the seconds where Mondo and Rokuna already started talking in the original.
  • During the flash backs to the items, the characters are heard talking. A shot is added of the Flame Angel handing her item. In the original, the flashbacks are mute.
  • During the splintering of the memories, Mondo says that now everything is lost. Nothing is said in the original.
  • Mondo says they have to do something, Rockna replies with yes they are needed.. In the original, Mondo only says, let's go and Rokuna agrees quietly.
  • Mondo says let's go as they start walking. In the original, he says nothing.
  • After the older folks yell, Mondo says that he can't idly stand by and watch the world disappear. In the original, he says he won't forgive that the items have been used for evil.
  • Rockna says they need to stop the evil in the world at all costs. Unsure of what the original says, but it's not this.
  • As they start running, Mondo says they will protect these creatures from evil and Rockna says it's for the peace of Mon World and then shout they are the Mon Colle Knights. In the original, they say it's for the harmony of Rokumon Sekai and to protect the monsters (essentially, the dub flipped around their phrases) and close off shouting Victory of Justice, Mon Colle Knights.
  • Mondo says they have to keep him (the dragon) back. Nothing is said in the original.
  • Mrs Loon calls their names and tells them to come back. Namiko yells, don't!
  • The Fire Dragon says they have courage. The original says nothing.
  • Gabriolis says he's coming with them. Zaha just calls out Mon Colle Knights.
  • The dub cuts the confrontation between Ichirobei and Count Collection entirely. The scene depicts Ichirobei (somewhat comically) strangling Count Collection while Count defends himself saying he didn't know what was going to happen. Instead, we hear Ichirobei's voice from off screen telling Eccentro that it's all his fault because he handed over his monster item (it's never named Gringul Orb here).
  • The scene where the Flame Angel looks over to the demons and says that they too have a problem with Reda's motives is cut, implying they're on the same side and they should do something, which the Wave Angel questions quietly and their expressions show their some skepticism.Instead, one shot from earlier in the episode where the Flame Angel has a neutral expression is placed here and she says that both good and evil must suffer now. Then a shot from the next episode, where the Wave Angel talks about the uniting elements and the Forest Angel aside of her is smiling, is placed here and she says that Redda used everyone for his evil plans. This changes the scene from showing doubt to showing them apathetic at best and enjoying their deaths in case of the Forest Angel.
  • The Fire Dragon asks the kids whether they think they can defeat the dragon alone and says it is no shame to ask for help from friends and asks them for the honor to fight at their side. The original has a slightly mocking tone and pretty much orders them to join the fight with him.
  • The kids say Together we can do it!, while in the original they say Adara Kadara Buu to merge.
  • Mondo makes a pun about warmth, Rockna says he will pay for being mean. In the original, Mondo says something to Reda, Rokuna says something about Rokumon Sekai.
  • Positive point : both versions call out the dragon's attack as Flame Strike.
  • The Fire Dragon says the attack bounced off. The original may have cursed.
  • Positive point : both versions of Reda say something about it being useless, since he's covering for the dragon. Dub Redda though again claims invincibility, while original calls the dragon Oroboros still.
  • Gabriolis says that if that is so, then he will make sure Redda cannot protect him anymore. Zaha something less eloquent and more rude to the same effect.
  • Gabriolis says, "quick, this is your chance to attack the Doomsday Dragon" to the kids. Zaha says, "now, Mon Colle Knights".
  • Mondo replies with that they will use it. Original just says Zaha's name.
  • Fire Dragon roars. In the original, he says, "alright, let's go".
  • Positive point : both versions of Rokuna say "watch out".
  • In the original, the Fire Dragon says Koitsu (that person; rude when used to a stranger). Nothing is said in the dub.
  • Redda calls Gabriolis a traitor, says he is on the wrong side, asks why he helps the humans and not him; apparently he forgot he personally fired him earlier. The original uses a swearword and only asks why he is helping the humans.
  • A recycled shot is added where Redda asks Gabriolis whether contact with humans made him insane.
  • A recycled shot is added where Gabriolis replies that he swore off evil and is fighting for the good cause now.
  • Gabriolis says that what Redda did with Oroboros is insane and asks again what the point is of ruling a realm of nothingness. In the original, he says it doesn't matter (in reply to the question of why he helps humans), Reda is threatening his own world and he asks him for the reason.
  • Positive point, both versions of Reda reply with a mocking tone that his opponent would be the one to ask for reason.
  • Redda tells Gabriolis to think it over, once Oroboros destroys all life there will be no more need for friendship, for all he hates and fears, and then calls him friend. The original tells Zaha to think it over, Oroboros will erase all form and war between angels and demons will end, all that will disappear, and so will friendship and treachery die along.
  • Redda continues to say that it would be the perfect place for a wounded soul like Gabriolis, a world in which no one can hurt and betray him, then tells him to join him. In the original, Reda says he would not have to fear betrayal and anxiety, isn't that the world he wanted? Positive points for being mostly similar, though the dub lacks the suicide implication.
  • Gabriolis says that isn't what he wants. Zaha only mutters something like "no … but …"
  • Redda asks whether he suddenly believes in friendship and loyalty and asks why he already forgot why he became a fallen angel, how a friend abandoned him, he knows how it looks within him (why Gabriolis doesn't reply with the truth he now knows is not addressed). The original Reda instead plays into his self loathing for being a demon, bringing up friendship and his patheticness as a fallen angel as support.
  • Redda says it doesn't matter what Gabriolis believes, contact with humans robbed him of his power apparently and how with the ability to control time he won't need Gabriolis to rule for eternity. In the original, Reda says that this is why Zaha is wrong, cites the holy and demon elements somewhat dismissively before ranting about how with the time power he will have eternity revolving around him. (The earlier half of the rant bit may tie into the "you suck" theme.)
  • When the fire dragon is injured, Mondo says that the dragon is injured. Original Mondo just calls the dragon's name in shock.
  • Gabriolis whispers "oh no" when he sees it. Zaha shouts "Mon Colle Knights".
  • When hitting him, Redda says to Gabriolis that Gabby lost and he won. In the original, he says nothing.
  • The dub shuffles around the footage of the shoulder dislodging bit so that it looks very confusing and Redda stabbed him twice. The flesh teary noises are removed, and instead Redda says that against him, Gabriolis has no chance and should accept it.
  • Unsure what Spectra Angel calls, but it's not the Mist spell. Reda's surprised "what?" is not heard.
  • Redda wonders what happened. The original says "This is …"
  • Gabriolis thanks Spectra Angel, for which the footage is extended a bit. In the original, he says her name in surprise.
  • Redda's lines are almost identical in both version : "Still meddling with my business, Spectra? Why is an angel of good helping a dark angel like Gabriolis?" versus "Ciel! Still getting in my way? Why is an Angel like you helping a Demon like Zaha?"
  • Spectra replies that when it comes to villains like Redda, there is no difference between them. In the original, Ciel says that everyone is part of the same world and shares in its crisis, and that there is no thing like Angels and Demons.
  • The Fire Dragon doesn't particularly sound like he's in pain, unlike the original version.
  • Upon freeing him, the Fire Angel says "protection shield, free the Fire Dragon". In the original, she says "battle spell : magic shield".
  • Mondo says that's not bad, Rockna thanks the angel. In the original, they say "that's the Flame Angel", finishing each other's sentences.
  • The Fire Dragon tells them more help seems to be appearing.
  • During the appearance of the storm angel and his dragon, Rockna states who they are. The original is silent.
  • Mondo says that now they will be able to do it. Original says Storm Dragon happily.
  • Positive point : both Rockna tell Mondo to look over there, though Rockna adds a question on what it is.
  • Mondo says it's the Angel of the Oceans and the water dragon. The original only says Winning Water Dragon.
  • Rockna says that even the Earth Dragon wants to help. The original says Lord Earth Dragon.
  • Gabriolis says something vague about the dragons moving against the Doomsday Dragon. In the original, Zaha mutters "That's…".
  • Spectra Angel says to an undefined "you" that they are right, everyone should work together, not alone and that's why they will unite their powers, that the Mon Colle Knights showed that with united power everyone is stronger, then asks whether Gabriolis thinks it will work out. In the original, Ciel says that the Yondai Tenshi finally understand and have come forth to unite their powers, thanks to those children (the Mon Colle Knights).
  • Gabriolis says he believes in what those young warriors represent and how they should never submit to Redda. In the original, he just whispers their names.
  • Spectra Angel asks the Forest Angel and Cloud Angel what they think. This does not happen in the original.
  • The Forest Angel replies they have to try and she is ready and the Cloud Angel says they are right and they should unite their powers. This decision is entirely mute in the original.
